Donegal Town 2-3 Drumbar United

Drumbar dramatically came out on top of a local derby today in front of a good crowd at the Hospital Field.

After an even opening period, Donegal Town took the lead in the 15th minute, finishing from close range after a well-worked team move. Drumbar responded just five minutes later through Dylan Doherty, who combined superbly with Oisin Ebbs before calmly finding the net on his full debut.

Donegal Town regained the advantage just before half-time, capitalising on a swift breakaway to go in 2-1 ahead at the half time interval.

The second half saw momentum swing back and forth, with Donegal Town enjoying spells of possession. However, Drumbar showed great resilience when it mattered most. Odhran Meehan proved the hero in the closing stages, producing two outstanding goals to turn the game on its head. His first came from a free kick wide on the right, which he brilliantly curled into the top corner. Just two minutes later, Meehan struck again – this time with a superb curling effort from the edge of the box – to seal a 3-2 win.

A hard-fought performance and a real squad effort. Special mention to Cormac Carr, Rion Carr, and Ryan Gaughan, who all made important contributions late on.

Big win. Well done lads 🇶🇦
