Drumbar United F.C. was founded in 1990 to cater to the footballing needs of the community in the Donegal Town area. Following an initial focus on football for boys at underage levels, a men’s senior team was established and entered into the Donegal League in 1993.
Since then, the club has continued growing from strength to strength, establishing men’s/boys’ teams at all age groups, as well as building one of the strongest grassroots female football offerings in the county, with ladies’/girls’ teams in place across all age groups. The club now fields 20 teams in total, supported by the voluntary efforts of dozens of coaches, parents and club supporters.
Based at Brookfield on the South-Eastern boundary of Donegal Town, continuous investment – both self-funded and through tens of thousands of Euro in externally awarded grants and awards – has enabled the Club to develop three high-quality playing pitches supporting ever growing player numbers. The club has significant ambitions for future growth and further development, for the benefit of both members and the broader community.
With an ever expanding playing population and broader membership base, and with representation from 6+ National and Secondary Schools, the wider Donegal Town community has shown its support to the Club on a consistent and ever deepening basis.
In turn, the Club will continue to reinvest in the success of both its players and the broader community, aided by the successful delivery of its Strategic Plan.
