Glencar Inn Saturday Division 1 Result

Kildrum Tigers 1-1 Drumbar United

Drumbar United senior men travelled to the home of the defending league champions today and came away with a hard-earned point after a dramatic finish.

The first half was a fairly even affair, with both defences on top and chances at a premium.

Drumbar came out of the traps after the break and, on the hour mark, had their best chance of the game. Vincent Breslin played Jacques McLeod through on goal, but his effort was denied by the Kildrum goalkeeper.

The game ebbed and flowed from there, with Drumbar having to stand firm and deal with some pressure from the home side, mainly from set pieces.

Just when it looked like the points would be shared, Kildrum struck from a set piece in the 90th minute to take the lead.

However, Drumbar refused to throw in the towel. Odhran Meehan, Eoghan Gallagher and Breslin led the charge in added time, linking up well in search for an equaliser.

Their persistence paid off. Meehan delivered a pinpoint corner into the box in the 92nd minute, and Paul Lagan rose highest to power his header into the net to leave the score at 1-1.

A team effort today, with great character shown and standout performances all over the field.

Well done lads. Onto the next one
